Nic Corrigan founded Whitehall Studio in 2014 after a career as a knitwear designer.  After growing disillusioned with the fast fashion industry, Nic sought to create a slow fashion brand with design and craftsmanship at its heart.  As well as designing and making a range of garments from her studio in Heptonstall, Nic sells the machine knitting patterns for her designs so others can make them too.   She is a passionate advocate of machine knitting and runs workshops, online classes and an online Machine Knit Community.

Nic is currently involved in Project Lonk with a farmer in her village.  Their aim is to create an economically viable way to process the fleeces from his rare breed Lonk sheep into high quality yarn to create a range of garments with a total mileage of under 30 miles from fleece to fashion.  The first clip is being sent to the local mill in September 2021 and will be ready for knitting by November.  The yarn will be available in skeins for hand knitting, on cones for machine knitting and as wool tops for felters, dyers and spinners.  A small proportion will also be available in naturally dyed colours using locally available plants.
