I create chunky wool rugs, seat pads, cat mats and wall hangings using the traditional craft of peg-loom weaving. I also make felted jewellery and decorations including my popular Baa-bles, baby mobiles, and framed landscapes, making use of the small bits of wool that I am unable to weave with. I work from my narrowboat home, traveling on the canals of North West England.

I source the wool directly from farmers nearby who keep rare breeds for the love of it and to preserve these wonderful primitive breeds including Manx Loaghtan and North Ronaldsay. Knowing the farmers’ passion and care for their animals assures me that the wool I work with is ethical.

Last year’s Manx Loaghtan wool is currently processed at Halifax Spinning Mill so this rare breed wool will soon be available to purchase as DK yarn and roving for fellow crafters.

I also weave bags and rugs using pre-loved clothing that can’t be re-used due to rips or stains.
Creating sustainable textiles and decorations is part of my aim to live a more sustainable lifestyle.

In 2023 I will be trading from the towpath and  look forward to meeting customers and other sustainable crafters along the way!
